365 Things to Do Around Cedar City #169…Trees, Art & Music….

There are a lot of things going on today.  We will start our list by celebrating Arbor Day by planting a tree.  This will begin at 10:30am at the new Cedar City Aquatic Center (2090 W Royal Hunte Dr). The program will include a welcome & introductions, poster contest winner, history of Arbor Day, special speakers and tree planting. For information call(435)865-9223.

Next on the list is  The Art Insight held at 7pm in the Centrum Arena, Section K (SUU Campus, 351 W University Blvd, Cedar City) and will feature painter Christopher T Terry, who explores light as the force that animates and fills his work.  Christopher will talk about his art and share his experiences.  Admission is free, and the general public is invited to attend. Now for the Music, we are  staying at SUU.  This features the SUU Student Guitar Ensemble, they will perform rock classics at 7:30pm in the Thorley Recital Hall (SUU Music Building, 351 W University Blvd, Cedar City). Admission is FREE and open to the general public.

Program will include highlights such as performances of Ozzy Osborn’s “Bark at the Moon” and Aerosmith’s “Sweet Emotion.” The concert also features renditions of “Limelight” by Rush, “Knights of Cydonia” by Muse, “House of the Rising Sun” by The Animals and “Frankenstein” by the Edgar Winter Group.
