The Livestock and Heritage Festival continue today, here is a schedule of events: Sheep Parade (10:00am), Color Country Quilt Show & Youth Art Show (10:00am – 5:00pm), Livestock Festival (11:00am – 5:00pm), Cowboy Poetry & Music (11:00am – 5:00pm), Vintage Car Display (Noon – 5:00pm), Dutch Oven Cooking Contest (12:30pm), Kid’s Pedal Tractor Pull (12:30pm), Antique Tractor Pull & Draft Horse Pull (12:30pm), and Cowboy Dirt Dance featuring ‘Saddle String; (7:00pm). The sheep parade is the highlight event of the Cedar Livestock & Heritage Festival and is one of the most unique parades in the country. Approximately 1,000 sheep will be herded down Cedar City’s Main Street. There will be historic sheep wagons, antique tractors, vintage cars, the official Wells Fargo Wagon and so much more. Parade route is from 400 South to 200 North. Please leave dogs at home.
Color Country Quilt Show &Youth Art Show
10 to 5 p.m.
The Color Country Quilt Guild will display their beautifully made quilts and hand made textile art. Also, student art work will be on display. On display in the Heritage Center Festival Hall, 105 N. 100 East.
11 to 5 p.m.
Honoring Cedar City’s rich agricultural heritage. Featuring vendors, agricultural displays, hands on demonstrations and pioneer activities provided by the Frontier Homestead State Park, antique tractor show, vintage car display, ongoing cowboy poetry, music and more. Held at the Cross Hollows Events Center.
Cowboy Poetry and Music
11 to 5 p.m.
Throughout the Livestock Festival, cowboy poets and musicians will entertain festival patrons with lively music and prose. Cowboy poetry is a form of poetry which grew out of a tradition carried on by workers on cattle drives and ranches. After a day of work, cowboys would gather around a campfire and entertain one another with tall tales and folk songs. The tradition lives on through festivals and gatherings throughout the West, including the Cedar City Livestock & Heritage Festival. Performers will be on stage in the indoor Diamond Z Arena at the Cross Hollows Events Center.
Vintage Car Display
Noon to 5 p.m.
Stock automobiles built before 1950 will be on display at the Cross Hollows Event Center. Featuring the fully restored autos of the Cedar Breaks Model A Club.
Dutch Oven Cooking Contest
Do you love Dutch Oven food? Come taste samples from your friends and neighbors and reward the best tasting dish with your vote in the 5th annual Dutch Oven Cook Off. You’ll be the Judge! Cost of the “tasting packet” is $5.00 per person and the packet will include; instructions, voting ballots, tasting utensils, a plate, and a hand towel.
Kid’s Pedal Tractor Pull
Kids ages ten and younger compete with miniature pulling sleds similar to the ones used in the Antique Tractor Pull. Pedal tractors will be provided by the Color Country Antique Machinery Association. There’s no charge to participate and prizes will be awarded. Held near the Cross Hollows Outdoor Arena near the concession stand.
Antique Tractor Pull & Draft Horse Pull
The antique tractor pull is an action packed event featuring tractors built before 1960. Held in conjuntion with the Tractor Pull will be a Draft Horse Pull featuring 12 teams including the World Champion Horse Pull Team. Event is free to spectators and will take place in the Cross Hollows Events Center Iron Rangers Arena. Cowboy Dirt Dance featuring Saddle Strings

Duck Creek Village is hosting a Trunk or Treat, here are the details: 4:00pm to 5:00pm. Start at Loose Wheels. DC Community Church Harvest Celebration & Party 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Celebration is held at Duck Creek Village (Hwy 14) accessed from Hwy 143 through Hwy 148 or Mammoth Creek Rd.
The SUU Theatre and Dance series presents, ‘I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change’ held at 7:30pm in the Auditorium Theatre (SUU Campus, 351 W University Blvd, Cedar City) Southern Utah University Department of Theatre Arts & Dance subscription series. Tickets are $10 Adults and $5 youth, available at the SUU Tickets Office, Centrum Arena 435-586-7872.
