I probably should have saved this post for nearer Halloween, but I am way into Genealogy, so I find going to the Cemetery a lot of fun, and if you’re into Genealogy, a lot of useful information. This particular Cemetery is the Parowan City Cemetary. I have 5 generations of relatives buried there, in fact, my 2nd great grandfather, Nathan Benson was a stone cutter and cut some of the headstones in there by hand.
I can’t remember when the rock wall was put in around the Cemetery in Parowan, my mother told me, but my memory isn’t what it once was. I do know that the rock arch over the driveway is at least the 2nd edition. Parowan is sort of a fun Cemetery, there is an Olympic Gold Medalist, Alma Richards, High Jump, and a Former Governor of the State of Utah, Scott M Matheson, buried here. For a town as small as Parowan, that is pretty good!
