Well it’s Friday the 13th, do you all have on your lucky charms? For me, 13 was always one of my lucky numbers, so I sort of look forward to the 13th when it falls on Fridays. I have been a little hard pressed to find activities to write about here in this blog since the Holidays. The University started back the past Monday, so there should begin to be an increase in activities.
Tonight there are a couple of activities, The Off the Cuff Improv Comedy is celebrating it’s 8th anniversary. There will be a 3 hour show tonight at 9 PM, the cost is $5. This show will feature past players. The show will be at the Improv Comedy Training Center 913 South Main Street.
One of the big things going on is that it is Parowan’s Birthday today. The town still looks pretty good for being 161! The festivities begin at 9 AM with singing and dancing by the school children. This will be at the Gym in Parowan High School. At 11 AM there will be a luncheon in the auxiliary room. Then there will be a Town Meeting in the Auditorium, from 1 to 3 PM. There will also be tours of the Aladdin Theater.
On Saturday, there are a couple of activities. The Southern Utah Woodturners will meet at 9AM in the woodshop at Cedar High School (703 West 600 South). Anyone interested in woodturning from expert to beginner is welcome! For more information call (805) 712-2174
The Parowan Birthday Ball will take place from 8 to 11 PM at the Iron County Fairgrounds Building. Music will be by Clique. This is a free dance!
