Whether the big Bail Out happens in Congress or not, life will go on. I noticed this fact this morning as I watched the children go to school. They were laughing and playing and acting just like children should act. I am not sure what the Bail Out or lack thereof will do to the Real Estate business. I am not saying that we should be as naive as children are, but I do think that if we listen only to what the News Media tell us, that we can forget that life will go on. The Sun will rise in the East and set in the West, the wind will blow and once in a blue moon we will actually get a rain storm.
Cedar City is a beautiful City! It is vibrant and full of life. It is a city that is growing, the City Economic Developer is actively recruiting new businesses and factories to come and take advantage of the talented and skilled work force that calls Cedar City home. More than that it is a city that cares about it's heritage, it's heroes and it's people. We have recently dedicated some beautiful memorials to the Veterans of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, as well as those that were Veterans of the current War on Terror. Construction is ongoing on a lake for the resident's to enjoy. There has been much discussion about the construction of a Recreation Center, in my opinion, it is something that we desperately need, but not at the expense of using all of the citie's funds to build it.
We have a wonderful gem of a University in Southern Utah University, we also enjoy a Tony award winning Shakespearean Festival along with many other festivals and galas. We like to have fun and enjoy the outdoors, they are so near that it is an easy thing to enjoy them. We have wonderful neighborhoods, many with great house values, and the inventory to suit everyone's tastes. The bail out or lack thereof won't stop the need for shelter for people, so eventually houses will sell or be rented as life goes on.
This is a great Country! The Greatest in all the World, I have lived in another country, and I have no problem making that statement. We will survive and overcome this economic problem, with or without the help of Congress, we have done it in the past, and I am sure that we will do it again. Life will go on, and people will still love the beauty that surrounds Cedar City, Real Estate will be bought and sold, and children will still laugh on their way to school. The sun will continue to rise and set, and the wind will continue to blow, hopefully we will get enough rain and snow to keep everything green, and life will go on irregardless of what the Media says or Congress does!
