I have mentioned in an earlier blog about the beautiful fall colors. So I will only say here that you had better hurry if you wish to enjoy them! It has turned colder here in Cedar City this first weekend in October, which it normally does, then it will warm back up a little until the end of the month. We have not got the first real frost of the season, but it won't be long. It also won't be long until Cedar Breaks National Monument Closes for the winter, as soon as there is a good snow storm State Road 148 which is the road into Cedar Breaks National Monument will be closed until next Memorial Day. Another rumor that I have heard is that due to budget shortfalls, the Department of Transportation will close State Road 143 between Brian Head and Panguitch Lake. It is still a great time to come and visit, the National Parks are open and the scenery is absolutely spectacular!
I have refrained from commenting too much about the Economic Bail Out, in truth, I am not an economist, and I really don't wish to be. So I can't write authoritatively on this Bill that recently passed Congress. I do know like I have said before, that life will go on. I hope that it will free up enough capital that allows good people to buy houses! That is the one part of the economy that Darcy and I do know, the housing market here in Cedar City and Iron County, and while there are deals being done, there are still a lot of good people trying to get mortgages even with good credit and the ability to repay. Our inventory of great homes is still very good. This is a wonderful opportunity to move up into a larger home or to buy that first home. There is also an incredible opportunity for investors in this area also. Many agents that have been in the business for more than 20 years have told us that this is the most opportunistic market that they have ever experienced.
I have a strong feeling that in 5 or 10 years many of us will look back and say to ourselves: "I wish that I would have taken advantage of the market in 2008 and bought a house or a larger house.
