I am glad that Active Rain seems to be fixed again. I was going through some withdrawl shakes last night! I hope that everyone enjoyed their Mother’s Day! This morning as I looked at the snow covered grass,(yes it snowed again last night), I thought about the buyer clients that we have, and what we have been doing to get them into a house. I thought about each of their chief criteria to get into a house, I was suprised to see that the over-riding criteria is still price.
It is true that everyone wants the nicest house they can afford in the nicest area that they can afford, that is just human nature. In a business that used to be all about location, location, location, now price sill rules the day. I think that this is a good thing, buyers a looking at homes with their heads more than their hearts, maybe that is what will end the distressed market place. People looking to buy within their budget more so than what they dream about.
We have noticed that many of our clients have a set price that they want to stay under and are not willing to excede that figure. I have to stop and think to myself, that a large part of the housing bubble may have been avioded had this attitude been prevalent 7 or 8 years ago. I know that hindsight is done with 20/20 vision, and it is easy to point fingers, that is not the purpose of this post. The purpose of this post is to salute those buyers that are looking at this logically and not just their hearts.
