Sunday is always a good day to sit and comtemplate life, it’s purpose and your particular purpose in life. I think that this is an exercise that many of us find ourselves in from time to time. Life is a great thing, it is a precious thing, I don’t wish anyone to misinterpret that in any way.
Often people are dissatisfied with the way that things are working out for them. I found this quote to remind me that it is up to me if I am in that situation it is up to me to fix it.
“For a long time it seemed to me that real life was about to begin, but there was always some obstacle in the way. Something had to be got through first, some unfinished business; time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.” ~ Bette Howland
I think that this is applicable to many people. When we’re kids we used to think that life would begin when we turned 18 and got out of High School. Then it was going to begin when we got out of college and began a “real career” whatever that is. After that, it is once the kids get out of the house and the business really gets going.
The retirement dream follows that and pretty soon life is over, and we never realized that we were living our lives. It is up to us how we live them and what we choose do do in them. So don’t spend so much time looking forward to the the time that you’re planning to live your life that you forget to actually live your life!
