I have spent some time talking about the wonderful small cities in the Cedar City Real Estate Market and what a joy it is to be able to work in those cities. I haven’t spent the time writing about the heart of the Cedar City Real Estate Market, Cedar City. Cedar City boasts a population near 28,000, that doesn’t account for the students at Southern Utah University.
Cedar City is 250 miles south of Salt Lake City on Interstate 15. For those coming from the south, it is 185 miles north of Las Vegas. Cedar City, as I mentioned, is home to Southern Utah University. It is also home of the Utah Shakespeare Festival, the Utah Summer Games, and a host of other festivals. It is the Gateway to Utah’s National Parks.
Market Update 12/7/2012: There are 126 homes currently listed for sale in the Multiple Listing Service in Cedar City. These homes range in prices from $10,700 for a trailer in a park to $586,000 for a mansion. These homes and prices are only on homes inside the City Boundaries. Many parts of the unincorporated county list addresses in Cedar City, but aren’t actually in City Boundaries.
In the past 12 months there have been 397 homes sell in Cedar City. The sold prices on these homes ranged from $6,600 for a Trailer in a park to $590,000 for a mansion. Once again, this only includes sales inside of city limits.
